HARRISBURG PA – A poster about poultry breeds, created by Emma Holliday of Limerick PA, was named the winner of its category in a contest conducted at the Pennsylvania Farm Show now being held at the state Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.
Holliday captured first prize among beginning level 8- to 12-year-olds in the breeds division of the Farm Show’s Youth Poultry Poster Contest. More than 60 different posters were entered across all contest divisions. Farm Show officials announced the winners Saturday (Jan. 10, 2009).
Holliday’s poster was considered the best among many educational posters that reflected work completed as part of a 4-H Club or Future Farmers of America project to demonstrate knowledge of the poultry industry. The size of all posters was 14 x 22 inches.
