LIMERICK PA – The township Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing tonight, during a meeting that starts at 7 p.m., regarding the proposed Sanatoga Springs shopping complex on Lightcap Road. The traffic it may generate, in addition to that of the existing Philadelphia Premium Outlets, is a continuing concern of public officials and township residents alike. The meeting will be held at its municipal building, 646 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick PA.

Seventy acres within Limerick on the interchange’s southeast side are expected to be developed for retail, office and residential mixed use by O’Neill Properties Group of King of Prussia PA beginning sometime later this year. O’Neill announced its plans for Sanatoga Springs, and its acquisition of the available property, last August. The project would be built near the outlets, which opened on 78-acre tract in November 2007.

An agenda for the supervisors’ meeting has been made available for download from the township website. According to it, the date for official action on Sanatoga Springs’ subdivision and land development plan is expected to be extended until April 3 (2009). The plan bears the name of an O’Neill affiliated company, Sanatoga Interchange Associates, L.P.

Also tonight, the agenda indicates, the board intends to:

  • Advertise a public hearing to amend the township zoning ordinance, enabling it to expand the Zoning Hearing Board from three to five members;
  • Discuss approval of an application for grant funds being made for the township’s emergency management program; and
  • Provide and update regarding litigation between the township and RHG Properties, LLC.
