COLLEGEVILLE PA – The preliminary 2009-2010 budget of the Spring-Ford School District was released Wednesday (Jan. 21, 2009) for public examination, according to an advertisement published Friday (Jan. 23) in The (Pottstown PA) Mercury, the district newspaper of record for legal notices.

A copy of the budget is available for inspection at the district offices, 199 Bechtel Rd., weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In the notice, district Business Administrator Timothy Anspach explains Spring-Ford expects to seek  exceptions from the state that would allow it to raise property taxes collected to pay for the budget higher than the 4.1-percent hike permitted by law.

The notice said the preliminary budget will be adopted by the district Board of School Directors during its workshop meeting Feb. 17 (2009). That meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Spring-Ford Senior High School, 350 S. Lewis Rd., Royersford.
