LIMERICK PA – A proposal to build a four-story, 95-unit hotel and accompanying restaurant on about 3.3 acres of land on West Linfield-Trappe Road is one of several applications to be considered by the Limerick Township Zoning Hearing Board when it meets April 22 (2009; Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m. in the township municipal building, 646 W. Ridge Pike. The meeting is open to the public.

The applicant, Girish Sheth of 2200 Stacy Dr., Reading PA, seeks variances to permit:

  • Two principal uses – the hotel and restaurant – on a single lot;
  • A hotel use on a lot that lacks frontage on or direct vehicle access to an arterial street;
  • Off-street parking less than 30 feet from a right-of-way and less than 25 feet from a lot boundary; and
  • Changes of slopes on the property.

Also during its meeting, the board is scheduled to conduct a separate hearing on an application by equipment rental company Giles and Ransome Inc., 125 Industrial Pkwy. It wants to expand an outside storage area on its property to more than 72,000 square feet. Back in 1998, the company asked for and received from the board an initial variance to expand the same storage area to its current size.

Both hearings were advertised Wednesday (April 8, 2009) in The (Pottstown PA) Mercury, the township’s newspaper of record for legal notices.
