BLUE BELL PA – Benefits for U.S. veterans that take effect later this year under a new Post-9/11 GI Bill will be the focus of a free seminar being conducted by the Montgomery County Community College Office of Veterans Affairs on July 24 (2009; Friday) at 10 a.m. in Room 214 of the Science Center on the college’s central campus, 340 DeKalb Pike.

The bill, which takes effect Aug. 1, changes how benefits will be applied to individual student veterans based on the length of their active-duty service following Sept. 11, 2001. Participating in the seminar will be Ralph Davis, military services coordinator with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and William Stephens, veterans’ education manager with the Department of Education.

The event is open to the public, and pre-seminar refreshments will be available at 9:30 a.m. For more information, call George Pannebaker at 215-619-7307.
