LIMERICK PA – Six songs into their first set Sunday evening (Aug. 23, 2009) at Limerick Community Park, the Flower Power Band found itself power-less.

The group was midway through a song when the electrical power feeding its amplifiers, microphones and other equipment suddenly quit. Members of the Norristown PA-based band, who have been playing together for more than 20 years, paused for about five minutes to replace a cable, apologized to their understanding audience, and successfully got back under way.

Everybody was rockin' - adults, kids and pets - until the power abruptly ended.

Everybody was rockin' - adults, kids and pets - until the power abruptly ended Sunday night. It was back on minutes later.

They played songs by Cream, The Zombies, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Badfinger, among any others. The crowd, which included listeners across a wide range of ages, rocked in their seats and seemed to enjoy every note.

The free concert was the last of three in a summer series scheduled by the Limerick (PA) Township Parks and Recreation Department at the park, Swamp Pike and Ziegler Road in Limerick PA. The performance was sponsored by Ambler Savings Bank.
