COLLEGEVILLE PA – A master class in jazz dance technique, offered by internationally-recognized jazz dance choreographer and teacher Danny Buraczeski, will be provided free to local residents Oct. 10 (2009; Saturday) at 10:30 a.m. in the Floy Lewis Bakes Center Dance Studio at Ursinus College, Collegeville PA.

After a career on Broadway, Buraczeski formed the company JAZZDANCE by Danny Buraczeski, which has performed all over the United States and internationally. He  now serves on the faculty at Southern Methodist University.

The Ursinus Dance Department last spring was awarded $10,000 from  a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, to re-stage “Swing Concerto.” The 1993 piece for nine dancers was choreographed by Buraczeski. The grant also included support for master classes and performances by Ursinus dance students.

Excerpts from “Swing Concerto” will be performed by the Ursinus Dance Company nightly Nov. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kaleidoscope Lenfest Theater. For information and reservations, call 610-409-3795.
