PHOENIXVILLE PA – “The Diary of Anne Frank,” the play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, will be presented Friday and Saturday (Nov. 20 and 21) at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday (Nov. 21, 2009) in a 3 p.m. matinee, in Krempels Theater at Valley Forge Christian College, 1401 Charlestown Road, Phoenixville PA.


The drama follows the true story of a young Jewish girl and her family as they struggle to survive the Nazi occupation of World War II. After being forced into hiding, Anne and seven others take up residence in a hidden attic in Amsterdam, where Anne records their day-to-day living in her beloved diary. Confined together, the eight members of the Secret Annex experience both grief and hope— and contend with the unrelenting threat of discovery and capture.

Cast members include Anne Frank- Erhin Jackson, Otto Frank- Dan Graham, Mrs. Frank- Hannah Bernstein, Margot Frank- Brandy Steel, Mr. Van Daan- John Scritchfield, Mrs. Van Daan- Priscilla Coffey, Peter Van Daan- Addison Roberts, Miep Gies- Caroline Pilman, Mr. Kraler- Ryan Bennett, and Mr. Dussel- Phil Monson.

The play is directed by Lindsay Merkel with Assistant Director Deneje Gonyea, and is produced by Curtain Call, the Drama Community of Valley Forge Christian College. Tickets cost $10 for general admission, and $5 for students, seniors and children. For more information, call 610-935-0450.
