ROYERSFORD PA – When is a shed not (or a least, not yet) a structure? When it’s located in the borough of Royersford PA.

Borough Council has announced its plans to amend Royersford’s zoning ordinance to include a “shed” as a “structure” that would be covered by the law. It also proposes to re-define a mere “building” as a more-encompassing “structure” within the law’s context.

Both tentative changes are found in an advertisement published last week (March 8, 2010) in The (Pottstown PA) Mercury newspaper, the borough’s publication of record for legal notices. The advertisement also indicated council would conduct a public hearing on the matter March 30 (2010; Tuesday) at 7:15 p.m. during its meeting in borough hall, 300 Main St., Royersford PA.

A full copy of the ordinance, with its proposed revisions, is available for public review weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at borough hall, according to borough Manager Michael Leonard.
