PHOENIXVILLE PA – Registration is under way for the 15th annual summer basketball league operated by a partnership of Phoenixville Area Positive Alternatives (PAPA) and the Phoenixville Area Recreation Department. Registration forms completed and submitted before April 30 (2010) will qualify for registration fee discounts; forms can be downloaded here.

The summer basketball league is co-ed and open to all youths age 7-16 who live in Phoenixville and the surrounding area. It features three age brackets: 7- 10-year-olds, 11- 13-year-olds, and 14- 16-year-olds. Games are played Sunday afternoons, from Father’s Day through early August, at Reservoir Park and C’Jons Saunders Park. Some games may be played Wednesday evenings, depending on the number of teams and if there are any rain outs.

The Father’s Day (Sunday, June 20, 2010) community celebration, on which league play is launched, is a fun day that also includes rides, food vendors, activities, pictures, entertainment, and the borough’s Father-of-the-Year award, announced by Communities That Care.

For more information about the league, to be a team sponsor, or to be a vendor at the Father’s Day celebration, call Sandy Booth at 610-983-4110, or Dolly Winston at 610-933-7728.
