She'll spill the beans Saturday about life in the colonies with George.

WORCESTER PA – Martha Washington – yes, THAT Martha; the wife of our nation’s first president – will be the guest hostess Saturday (June 5, 2010) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Montgomery County’s historic Peter Wentz Farmstead, 2100 Shearer Rd., Worcester PA, in observance of her 279th birthday.

This event has been added to The Post calendar.

George’s missus will “delight visitors with stories of her life,” site educator Kimberly Boice said, and then invite them into the Wentz kitchen to learn about some of her favorite recipes.

Visitors touring the house will begin with a chance to chat with Mrs. Washington, portrayed by historian Irene Ferguson. Ferguson has extensively researched Washington’s life and introduced her to area historic groups and museums. The day’s activities continue in the summer kitchen, where volunteers will demonstrate 18th century techniques and skills required to produce some of the first First Lady’s favorite foods and beverages.
