Last year's champion of "A Taste of the Valley's" top ticket-selling contest was "Ortino's North Side." Accepting his award from Janice Tabbut, WMUSA President, is restaurant owner John Ortino and his daughter.

LIMERICK PA – “A Taste Of The Valley,” the food-sampling festival and fund-raiser that benefits the West-Mont United Soccer Association, returns June 13 (2010; Sunday) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to the West-Mont fields, 560 Royersford Rd., Limerick PA. Organizers say the day will be filled with fun activities for all ages, varied live entertainment, and the best dishes of area restaurants and vendors.

Participating restaurants announced as of Friday (June 4) are:

Events include day-long visits by members of the Philadelphia Independence women’s professional soccer team beginning at 11 a.m., performances by the Bad Habit Band from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., a coach’s soccer match at 12:30 p.m., an appearance by balloon artist Neal Donovan from 1-3 p.m., a visit from Philadelphia Eagles mascot Swoop at 2 p.m., accompanied by an Orange And Blue game, also at 2, and the announcement of the festival’s best food vendor at 3:45 p.m.

At 6 p.m., after the festival ends, Heather Mitts and the Independence take on Marta local stars Nicole Barnhart of Gilbertsville, Becky Edwards of Downingtown, and the rest of the FC Gold Pride team in John A. Farrell Stadium at West Chester University, 855 S. New St., West Chester PA, to help raise money for West-Mont.
