Handling eggs.COLLEGEVILLE PA – “Food, Land and People,” a collection of lessons and resource materials for teachers, will be presented Saturday (June 26, 2010) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Maple Room at the Montgomery County Cooperative Extension and 4-H Center, 1015 Bridge Road, Collegeville PA. The event is open to interested teachers of science and related disciplines in pre-kindergarten through high school.

The course intends to:

  • Stimulate students to understand the interdependence of food, land and people by training educators and providing materials;
  • Create opportunities for awareness, critical thinking and skills development;
  • Create dynamic instructional materials designed by educators for educators;
  • Develop a broad-based coalition of private and public entities; and
  • Promote agricultural and environmental awareness, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, cooperative attitudes, and appreciation for cultural differences.

Advance registration is required. The program costs $50, and includes a curriculum book. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch. For more information, call Linda Hoade at 610-489-4315.
