COLLEGEVILLE PA – Montgomery County’s annual 4-H Fair is more than a month away, but it’s not too early to start planning for entries in the competition to make the event’s best sewn, knitted, crocheted, quilted, baked, ceramic, and craft products, and jams or photos, says county Cooperative Extension representative Norma Young.

The Fair offers almost everyone a chance to “show their stuff” and demonstrate their skills, according to Young. Entering the competitions is free, and winners may take home blue, red or white ribbon prizes. Exhibitors must be county residents. A list of contest categories and open-class entrance requirements is available by calling the Cooperative Extension office at 610-489-4315, or by download from its website.

The fair itself will be held Aug. 12-14 across the sprawling county 4-H Center on Route 113 in Creamery PA, just south of Skippack.

Contest entries may be dropped off Mondays through Fridays beginning Aug. 2 from 8:3o a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The deadline to submit entries is Aug. 10 (Tuesday) by 8 p.m. After the contests are judged, entries must be picked up from 4-H by no later than Aug. 14 (Saturday) at 4 p.m.
