COLLEGEVILLE PA – A two-day “Ag-Venture” sustainable agriculture camp for youths age 10-13 will be offered July 20-21 (2010; Tuesday and Wednesday) daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Montgomery County 4-H Center, Route 113, Creamery PA, a mile south of Route 73 near Skippack.

The camp is intended to show teens how they can make a difference in their community and world by focusing on economically and environmentally sustainable practices like creating meals using locally grown or organic ingredients, and composting. Participants can “come and have fun, get a bit dirty, and meet new friends,” says Cooperative Extension representative Jessica Moldofsky.

The camp costs $50 per person. Campers must provide their own lunches. Enrollment is limited, and early reservations are suggested. To enroll, call the 4-H office at 610-489-4315 or visit its website. Additional materials will be sent to those who register.
