ROYERSFORD PA – Four–hour refresher educational programs approved by the state Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to help lower automobile insurance costs for senior citizens will be conducted by the East Penn AAA during January and February (2011) at a new location, 70 Buckwalter Rd., Royersford PA. The classes previously were held in Pottstown.

The 4-hour driver improvement refresher course will be held Jan. 19 (2011; Wednesday), and Feb. 16 (Wednesday), both from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Its cost is $10 per AAA member, $15 per AAA member couple, and $20 for non-members.

A companion 8-hour driver improvement core course, titled “Safe Driving for Mature Operators,” is already under way this month (November 2010) at East Penn’s Pottstown office. Its first schedule for 2011 has not yet been announced.

Successful completion of the courses allows insureds age 55 and older to qualify for a state-mandated reduction in the cost of their premiums. For more information, call toll-free 800-564-0300.
